We asked Tim to do a renovation of our rather tired kitchen and were delighted with the results. He took time to listen to exactly what we wanted but also offered very useful advice on the design and choice of components. Tim works really hard to make sure everything is done to a very high standard and is organised and thoughtful about his work. We were really thrilled with the finished result and would highly recommend T D Kitchens for good value, great workmanship and an extremely pleasant person to work with.

It was only by chance that I came across Tim, and that was a recommendation from some friends. They’d had a new kitchen fitted in the previous year, and were very happy with the whole process. I’d not thought of looking for a kitchen designer in the Oswestry area, but I’m glad that my friends had.
Tim came out one Saturday afternoon in March. He turned up on time, had samples of doors, knobs, handles and untold examples of other kitchen paraphernalia. It was clear from the outset that he knew his stuff. The old kitchen had been in for some 27 years, and it was time for a change. I already knew the style and colour that I wanted, what I wasn’t sure of was how to make it all happen. I’d gone down the local kitchen suppler route, but there lies the problem. They sell you a kitchen to your design and someone else fits it (well that’s the idea). Tim on the other hand asks what you want, what you’d like to change as well as coming up with several new ideas. He spent a couple of hours going through various options, agreeing with some of my ideas but pointing out some things that wouldn’t work at the same time as providing a work around solution. Tim went away and a couple of days later an email with some CAD drawings arrived along with a quotation. This was quickly accepted, and the job was scheduled in for a month later.
Tim sources the kitchen parts from different suppliers. This way he finds components that work and last, and after twenty years in the industry this knowledge is invaluable. For example I have drawers with glass sides??
A month later and Tim turned up on a Friday morning to take the old kitchen out. That didn’t take long, and followed by first fix electrics, quite a bit of plastering (which I arranged) and several litres of white paint on the ceiling while the room was empty. The rebuild started after the Easter break and was near enough complete within two weeks. There are a few finishing off items to complete: a couple of made to measure doors and an additional wall cupboard to fit. I’d asked Tim to accommodate a mid level oven in the utility room, and this took extra time.
As I said at the beginning of this review, it was only by chance that I came to hear of TD Kitchens. I am so grateful to my friends for giving me his details, I’m going to try and sum up my views of the whole process:
Advice from day one - excellent
Attention to detail - outstanding
Ability to accommodate changes - no problem
Punctuality - spot on
He’s also good company and it was clear after the first day that we’d get on like a house on fire.
I’m really pleased with the finished project, it’s been hard work, it’s been messy at times (what isn’t), it’s been on time but the finished kitchen is far better than I ever expected. I have no reservations in recommending Tim to anyone, and would be more than happy to show people the works he’s done here.

Having had Tim to build a kitchen for us when we needed a wardrobe and drawers which were impossible to source off the shelf we asked Tim who planned and constructed a beautiful wardrobe to include drawers and a small dressing table. We are delighted with our new painted sage Stonebridge kitchen island and the way that Tim understood our vision for recycling the removed peninsula unit to refit our utility. He also fitted a baby belfast sink,funky tap. adapting an existing carcass to fit below, and fitted shaker broom cupboards which reflect the same mix of timber and painted finishes as the kitchen. Tim went the extra mile to deliver our vision and is committed to excellent attention to detail and the highest standards of workmanship. So refreshing after a bad joinery experience with someone last year! As a bonus he is a thoroughly nice guy, working until beyond 7.30 last Friday to finish the project, after which hubby had to dig his van out of the by then deep snow!
